Saudi Arabia and Houthi forces exchange cross-border strikes
Saudi Arabia and Yemen's Houthi forces have exchanged cross-border strikes, resulting in at least five deaths, including three children in Yemen and a Yemeni resident in Saudi Arabia. The escalation follows a lightning advance by the Houthis to capture Yemen's entire Red Sea coast.
Why it matters
The renewed fighting has displaced over 100,000 people, forced civilians to flee by boat across the Red Sea, and created new threats to global oil supplies.
